Madrona has a strong community and great alumni support; an example is this in the Joe Rice Scholarship.
Joe Rice was one of Madrona’s founders. Part of his legacy is an annual scholarship that was established to honor his commitment to education and passion for the benefits of learning and growing in a unique, multiage setting. His mission was for students to not only learn the core subjects, but also empathy, cooperation and teamwork that are necessary in a multiage center.
Every year, the Joe Rice Scholarship awards $1,000 to a graduating high school senior who attended Madrona for at least (4) years, and who has plans to attend an institution of higher learning. The award is sent directly to the student’s college of choice.
The application process includes a short questionnaire and submission of a prompted essay addressing Madrona’s impact and affect on student experience and personal growth.
Please let any graduating high school seniors know about this great opportunity!
The deadline for applicant submission is Friday, April 28th at 5:00pm. Spread the word!
All information may be found in high school counseling and career offices or on Naviance, a web-based scholarship directory.
Please forward any questions to Wing Roeter or e-mail the JoeRiceScholarship@gmail.com
Happy hunting and best of luck to all our 2023 graduating alumni!
