Madrona Kids Fund

Have you returned your green envelope yet? Please have your children return their green envelopes to their teachers, even if they are empty! Final day for Green Envelope Participation is Friday, November 3rd.  All centers with a 100% return rate will earn a popcorn party in appreciation.  If you haven’t seen the green envelope yet, please check your child’s backpack.

MKF provides financial support for many events and programs at Madrona, including the Back to School BBQ, music program, Library, and reusable classroom learning supplies.  MKF also provides funds to purchase emergency supplies, such as food, new seating for the general music room and walkie talkies for the staff so they no longer need to use their personal cell phones for communication when not in their classrooms.

Our goal this year is to raise an average of $65 per student, to cover our yearly budgetary need. We understand that the capacity to give varies, and whether you can donate $5 or $500, anything is greatly appreciated!

You can make a one-time donation, or subscribe to monthly donations https://www.madronabearfacts.com/fundraising/mkf/.  Checks may be made out to MIT and returned with the green envelope or placed in the MIT box in your child’s center.

Also, please look into whether your employer offers matching charitable donations. It’s a wonderful way to increase the benefit to our school!

As is common with traditional, purchase-based fundraising drives, we ask that you consider spreading the word to your extended community, such as your broader family and friend circles.

Madrona International Trip! For Families of Current 6th and 7th graders:

Reminder, if you are interested in learning more about your 6th or 7th grade child traveling abroad with a group of Madrona teachers and students, please join our informational meeting for parents on Tuesday, November 7th from 6:00-7:00pm. To allow for as many family schedules, this meeting will be on Zoom hosted by Middle School DHH teacher Hillary Hubacker and Renaissance teacher Mrs. Amy Johnson.

Look for the Zoom link and an exciting announcement about our new 2025 destination (Hint: it’s even an entirely new continent for us!), in next week’s MIT newsletter.
